2024 Texas Open: odds, picks, field, and predictions
The 2024 Texas Open is slated to begin on April 4, 2024, and end on April 7, 2024. It will be hosted at TPC San Antonio, presenting an opportunity for golfers to qualify for next week’s Masters Tournament. The Valero Texas Open 2024 has brought with it several odds for players, some of them surprising at every turn.
Alex Noren sports odds of +3,000 in the tournament, while Christiaan Bezuidenhout and Brendon Todd bring odds of +4,500 and +7,000, respectively, on the paper. Rory McIlroy, world number 2, is the favorite with odds of +900.
However, select experts are fading Mcllroy. This is based on his standings, despite being the four-time major winner. He stands in the 119th position. He recently concluded the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am at the 66th position and the Genesis Invitational at the 24th position. He has failed to feature in the top 10 players, with the best number coming up in the Players Championship, where he ended up in the 19th spot.
Rory holds the top spot as a favorite contestant, likely to cement his rank in the Masters Tournament.
He is followed by Ludvig and Jordan, with +1200 and +2000 stacked in their favor. Spieth shares the rank with Hideki, as does the number of odds. Others riding the same boat are Matt, Corey, and Collin, with +2500 each. Max Homa resides somewhere between them, with +2200 points. Ben William and Blaine Hale Jr. are at the bottom of the list, with +50000 each.
The Masters Tournament will be hosted by the US. Jon Rahm had won the previous edition, while Scottie Scheffler had kept the title in the house in the 2021–2022 edition of the tournament. Jon’s success came after accumulating 276 points throughout the session. That was a 2-point deficit in comparison to the previous edition.
The Corales Puntacana Championship is around the corner too. It begins on April 18, 2024, and ends on April 21, 2024. The previous edition’s champion, Matt Wallace, nearly broke the record set by Chad Ramey in the 2021–2022 edition. His stand was at 269 against 271. The Masters Tournament will take place from April 11, 2024, to April 14, 2024.
The US will host the RBC Heritage on the sidelines of the Corales Puntacana Championship.
That said, it is up to Rory to justify why it is wrong to fade him too soon. Analysts at the best Golf betting sites have quoted him as a favorite to win the 2024 Texas Open, thereby moving on to the next adventure. However, others are believed to have a better presence. TPC San Antonio will host the Valero Texas Open this year. It brings a final chance to qualify for next week’s Masters Tournament.
Odds are currently in the range of +900 and +50000, with Rory at the top and Blaine and Ben sharing the bottom spot.
