Aaron Patrick sues NFL and others for a season-ending ACL tear
Aaron Patrick, the linebacker for the Denver Broncos, has filed a lawsuit after he sustained a season-ending ACL tear on October 17, 2022. Defendants named in the suit are NFL, Chargers, SoFi Stadium, Roe Mat company, and ESPN, among others. Aaron is reportedly seeking to recover losses due to the missed base salary and potential bonuses that he could have earned.
According to the lawsuit, Aaron Patrick will lose $370,000 in base salary and potential bonuses amounting to $200,000 – $400,000. Compensation sought by Aaron also looks to cover significant pain & suffering, and emotional distress.
The Broncos LB was immediately declared out of the season after his left knee injury. He ran into a sideline worker, following which he stepped on the rubber mat and fell to the ground. Diagnostic showed a season-ending ACL tear, forcing him to retire from upcoming games. To add to this worry, the one-year contract signed with the Denver Broncos limits his payout under the circumstances in which he lands on injured reserve. The contract is worth $660,000.
