Andre Drummond makes history as Bulls beat Hawks 118-113
Andre Drummond’s entry into the Chicago Bulls was courtesy of Nikola Vucevic, who sustained a strained groin. His average per game comes to 13–14 minutes. Andre gives his best in the limited window he gets, the most recent one coming against the Atlanta Hawks, where he has set a record for his side.
Andre bagged 24 points and 25 rebounds, along with 2 blocks and 3 steals. He is now the sixth player in NBA history to have achieved this feat. Others on the list are Hakeem Olajuwon, Roy Tarpley, and Charles Barkley, to mention a few. He is also the first since December 15, 2006, a time when Ben Wallace had a minimum of 25 rebounds in the game.
Drummond has said that he takes every basketball game as it comes with the mentality of being a good teammate. This works with detachment from the thought that he is a backup. For Andre, it is all about being positive and supporting teammates, adding that everything is reciprocated once he is on the court.
That is indeed true, as evident from statements by Billy Donovan, Coach. Billy has appreciated his contributions to the team by saying that he is awesome and that he has done well in his career. Billy has added that Andre is of high caliber, which makes him an ideal candidate to have more minutes in the game.
According to sports news, Donovan has emphasized that Drummond has made significant sacrifices and worked diligently to stay prepared for every basketball game.
