Argentina’s FIFA World Cup campaign song: Muchachos, we can dream again
Argentina wins the World Cup for the first time in 36 years, with Lionel Messi shining brightly around every corner. For many reasons, the 4-2 win over France in the FIFA World Cup 2022 final goes down in history. One of them is a double by Messi and a hat trick by Mbappe.
Argentine football fans are still celebrating winning moments. A song that has now gone viral is titled “We can dream again.” It was the campaign song for Argentina, dedicated to their World Cup journey. Originally released in 2003, the song went through a few modifications ahead of the World Cup journey.
Muchachos, we can dream again was first released as Muchachos, tonight I’m going to get drunk again.
Changing the lyrics and dedicating the song to everyone’s favorite football team was the brainchild of a 30-year-old teacher. Fernando Romero describes how he came up with the idea. Romero stated that he was inspired to rewrite the lyrics while preparing food at home. He then considered the song, became emotional, and recorded it on his mobile device.
Lyrics stayed with him and eventually made their way onto everyone’s playlist. The song was directed and recorded by Mosca Tse-Tse, who is now interested in releasing another version that includes the victory. So far, the song is dedicated to Argentine football, highlighting all of the finals they have lost as well as their Copa America 2021 victory over Brazil.
The lyrics begin by stating that the singer or anyone singing the song was born in Argentina, the home of Maradona and Messi, whom they will never forget.
Fans have embraced the song fully, citing its accurate depiction of their culture and its emotional originality. The song has definitely gone viral, with even the players performing it in their buses and changing rooms.
Romero rewrote the song to encourage players and make them feel proud of being Argentinians.
While another official edition comes out, fans have taken the liberty to modify one line, stating we want to win a third. This line has been changed to “we have won a third.”
The final match of the FIFA World Cup 2022 between Argentina and France was not just another event but a collection of moments worth remembering for the entire life. Everything, including football betting, reached unprecedented heights. Argentina appeared to lead the charge with two goals in the first half. Mbappe was in top form in the final 10 minutes, and he went on to equalize the score.
Nobody knew who would win until after the final penalty. Mbappe scored a hat trick, Messi scored a double, and a total of 12 goals were scored during the event, six of which were scored during the game and the remaining six during the penalty shootout.
