Brooklyn Nets Beats Host Atlanta Hawks by 130-118 on Wednesday Night
On Wednesday, Brooklyn Nets defeated Atlanta Hawks by a margin of 12 points. The NBA league match ended at a tally of 130-118, respectively, with 4 Brooklyn players scoring more than 20 points. With this victory, Nets won 6 out of the last eight games. It was also the 6th consecutive win for Brooklyn against Atlanta since March 8, 2017.
For Brooklyn, seasoned Garrett Temple secured 27 points making his season-high. He scored 10-for-16 in shooting and 6-for-9 from the perimeter. Spencer Dinwiddie scored 24 points adding six in rebounds and five assists. And former Atlanta player Taurean Prince scored 23 while Jarrett Allen added 20 points and 13 rebounds.
Earlier, the Hawks had a great start with a quick 9-2 lead. After the first quarter, the home team had a lead of 4 points with the tally at 26-22. But Brooklyn started the second quarter at a higher note and outscored Atlanta 19-9 and by the half-time had a lead of 56-47.
The last quarter was a shootout where Brooklyn again outscored Atlanta 39-36. Surprisingly, Atlanta lagged by 12 pts in most of the 2nd half. Atlanta lost back-to-back games after opening the season with two simultaneous wins.
For Atlanta, Trae Young led the tally with 39 points and 10 rebounds. Out of 39, he shot 13-for-23 from the field and made five 3-pointers in total. The rookie, Cam Reddish, recorded his career-high 25 points. The center Damian Jones also scored 20 points, his highest so far.
Kyrie Irving, the point guard of Brooklyn Nets, was again unavailable because of the right shoulder impingement. This the 10th miss for the player in the season. For Hawks, De’Andre Hunter was unavailable due to a dislocated right index finger in the game against Golden State on Monday. The host team would have also missed Allen Crabbe, who was out with right knee soreness.
Brooklyn will have its next game on Friday at the Charlotte Hornets, while Atlanta will face its challenge on Sunday at the same venue. Without the Big 3, the Brooklyn Nets need to go another way, adapting their strategy for the upcoming matchups. Notably, the Brooklyn Nets and Atlanta Hawks will meet three more times this season, with the next contest set for December 21 in Brooklyn.
