Carlos Alcaraz looks confident to beat Emil Ruusuvuori in Madrid Open
Alcaraz Garfia won the Barcelona Open by defeating Tsitsipas. He is now gearing up to defend the Madrid Open title. Alcaraz is first scheduled to play against Emil Ruusuvuori.
Emil made his debut this Wednesday by playing against Ugo Humbert. He stood on the winning side at the end of the game with a tally of 7-6(6) and 7-6(4). Emil is now looking to claim his third top-ten win by defeating Alcaraz. However, it is not going to be easy, and he knows this fact.
While talking about Carlos, Emil told the media that Carlos has the capability to do anything in court, irrespective of his position. He then added that Carlos’ defending skills are super-fast with improved service skills. The bet now is on having a solid game of the highest quality.
Emil, a 24-year-old tennis champ, is mostly right about his opponent.
Making this evident is the statement by Carlos Alcaraz, wherein he has said that he is coming to the Madrid Open with a lot of confidence, especially after winning the Barcelona Open. He is said to be 100 percent good physically and all set for the next competition.
The Mutua Madrid Open will also see Andrey Rublev and Hogler Rune play for the title.
At the ATP Masters 1000, Alcaraz defeated Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, and Alexander Zverev. Against Emil, he could replicate all of this vitality. In their prior encounter in Miami in 2021, Carlos suffered a loss in the first round. However, circumstances have changed, and he has returned with an improved version of himself.
In other words, Emil is right about facing Carlos, who cannot be taken lightly even for a single second on the court.
Alcaraz could only make it to the Semi-Final of the Miami Open in the latest edition. He went on to lose against Sinner with 7-6, 4-6, and 2-6. All the events prior to that saw him win pretty comfortably against names like Fritz, Paul, and Lajovic.
Carlos also enters the Madrid Open with the winning cap that he earned at the Indian Wells Masters. He faced Sinner in the semi-final round, making sure to clinch the victory at all costs. The final round was against Medvedev, with the opponent racing behind at a tally of 6-3 and 6-2. He has also won the Argentina Open after losing to Rune in the quarterfinals of the Paris Masters.
Andrey Rublev and Stan Wawrinka will next set the court on fire. This will be their third ATP Masters 1000 meeting since the 2020 Rolex Paris Masters. Stan’s head-to-head record is 2-1 in his favor. Andrey appears unstoppable as he advances to the final round of Banja Luka and retains the title of Monte-Carlo.
As for Alcaraz versus Emil, several online tennis betting sites are inclined toward Alcaraz. He has claimed that he derives motivation from the home crowd, and hence, he would do everything in his capacity to defend the title.
Emil has a mammoth task ahead of him: to not let the crowd overpower him on the court. He can then fight to win the match and let Carlos wonder what went wrong.
