Deschamps sees a bright future for France as Mbappe shines in FIFA 2022
Didier Deschamps, France’s coach, dreamed of winning the second successive FIFA World Cup title after becoming the champions of the 2018 FIFA World Cup. The head coach, Didier Deschamps, was about to declare his retirement after the final match in Qatar. Asking about his future moves, the coach said he would wait a while before deciding whether to continue his journey as a France coach or to take an exit after the final defeat at the FIFA World Cup 2022.
Deschamps highlighted that the future of France’s soccer is bright, as the team is loaded with young talents like Kylian Mbappe. Although Deschamps and his team were expecting to take a victory over Argentina and retain the trophy with them, unfortunately, they suffered a loss to Argentina in a 4-2 penalty shoot-out after a thrilling 2-2 draw and 3-3 after extra time. This created a slight disappointment amongst fans of football betting industry.
The shoot-out loss has prevented captain Didier Deschamps from breaking the record of Vittorio Pozzo and becoming the first coach to win the World Cup title twice. The contract that has kept Deschamps in charge since 2012 has expired, but as the President of the French Football Federation stated earlier, Deschamps will be offered a new contract if the team advances to the semi-finals. The decision will be made public after Deschamps meets with the president of the Football Federation.
When asked about the defeat faced by France, Deschamps said that once the team gets settled, they must focus on qualifying for Euro 2024, which will begin in March. Although Deschamps is sad about yesterday’s match, he is confident about his team and its young players, who have shown outstanding performance for this level. The coach feels that France has a huge pool of talent, including young and fresh faces like 25-year-old Nkunku and experienced leaders like Thierry Henry, Olivier Giroud, and Hugo Lloris, to take the team to another level in future matches. Kylian Mbappe, a French footballer, is one of the best players in the world, and he became the second man in World Cup history to score a hat-trick after FIFA 2022.
