Dortmund to face visiting Wolfsburg in a Bundesliga match
The Bundesliga match is all set to roll out interesting seats to the audience on May 7, 2023, when the second-ranked Dortmund comes face-to-face with the seventh-ranked Wolfsburg at Signal Iduna Park. BVB will host with a winning chance of 64%. This is way more than Wolfsburg’s chance, which is 17%. As a matter of fact, the visitors have a better chance of landing a draw against the hosts.
In other words, victory is far-fetched for Wolfsburg against a team that has won 37 out of 42 matches in their backyard.
The only match that did not work in their favor was against Bochum. The one-each-goal draw pushed them to the second rank, making way for Bochum to move up to the top spot in the leaderboard.
Karim found the net in the 7th minute and will likely lead the squad along with Malen. The side’s captain, Marco Reus, could be benched for the next event. Nico Schlotterback will also remain on the list. Niklas and Mats are likely to take charge of the rearguard.
Dortmund enters the field with confidence gained from the 4-0 victory against Frankfurt. Assuming Dortmund succeeds in its mission of making it to the top two and claiming the title, it will be after 2012 that the team lifts the first Meisterschale.
Wolfsburg has the pride of delivering a 3-0 defeat to Mainz. However, they struggle with inconsistency while having the lowest individual scorers in the tournament so far. Maxence Lacroix, the center-back, sustained a shoulder injury when playing against Mainz. This will force him to miss the next big thing.
Other players who are missing the next game are Paulo Otavio and Lukas Nmecha. A factor that could work for them is the entry of Micky Ven. His one-week suspension ends as Kevin Paredes also works to set his foot on the ground after reportedly recovering from a minor thigh injury.
Wolfsburg have not won a single match out of the last nine played by them at Dortmund. They are the third-favorite team this season; however, that is less likely to give them the victory. Football sports betting sites, nonetheless, remain inclined toward the hosts for the next game.
Bochum faced a terrible 1-5 defeat against them, with Mattias coming out strongly for a double in the first and second halves, respectively. Moritz was responsive in the 68th minute, but he stood like a lone warrior against three more Wolves. Two out of them were able to find the net in the first half, as Lucas gathered stamina to score in the 77th minute.
That marked one of the best games they displayed before beating goalless Mainz in the last meeting.
Wolves will next face Hoffenheim, while BVB look forward to competing with Monchengladbach. The leaderboard is ruled by Bayem, with Union Berlin just below Dortmund in the 3rd position.
