Excitement rises: ICC publishes ODI 2023 schedule
Don’t keep calm and bring the excitement to its utmost level! ICC has announced the schedule for the global event of the cricketing world. The 2023 world cup for one-day international sport will begin on October 05, 2023, with England and New Zealand clashing in Ahmedabad. England won the previous edition. New Zealand was left stranded at the post of runner’s up. There is no doubt that the side will look to redeem the loss for its fans.
Finals will take place in Ahmedabad on November 19, 2023.
India is set to lock horns with their arch-rivals, Pakistan, on October 15, 2023. However, they will face Australia and Afghanistan before that on October 08, 2023, and October 11, 2023, respectively.
A total of ten teams will be on the battlefield. Two semi-finals will be played on November 15 and 16, 2023, in Mumbai and then in Kolkata. Meaning four teams will make it to the semi-final round. The remaining six teams will see their ranks rise or fall on the ICC website, where one can also view the schedule in detail. The most interesting event could be Australia versus England, considering the way the first test match of the Ashes 2023 has played out.
India last won the ODI world cup in 2011. That was also the time when the country hosted the tournament. It returns to the region, pinching a sense of hope that Rohit Sharma may lift the trophy after MS Dhoni.
The two qualifiers are expected to make it to the list after the round concludes on July 09, 2023. Until then, one can see the possibilities of each team inching toward the ultimate title at the cricket betting sites. Notably, ODI is the only format where India is not ranked first at the time of drafting this article.
Australia is leading the chart, followed by Pakistan and India. Previous winners are lagging behind in the fifth position as New Zealand rides on the fourth spot.
