FamilyAid Boston and Poker Pro Bernard Lee Come Together to Help the Homeless
Bernard Lee, Card Player columnist, and Poker Pro, spread some holiday cheer to those in need in his hometown of Boston.
The Wayland, MA native has joined hands with FamilyAid Boston for the 11th year to offer tailored holiday kits to 38 local families battling homelessness. The campaign was also sponsored by RunGoodGear.com.
FamilyAid President, Larry Seamans, said that FamilyAid is assisting many kids and parents this holiday season. Bernard and his kids are helping to provide the gift of pleasure and joy to families who really need it. They are grateful to Bernard for his six-year partnership and commitment to giving happiness to these homeless parents and their children.
Lee has used The Full House Charity Program in the past to give personalized gifts to families at a Christmas dinner. In light of the pandemic, this year’s presents were delivered to FamilyAid Boston, which then gave the parcels to the families.
Lee said that he and his family are fortunate to pay it forward and brighten these families’ holiday season. Building each personalized present box for the kids is the year’s highlight for him and his children, as they sincerely look forward to creating this family tradition.
He also expressed his gratitude to FamilyAid for carefully working through all of the issues during this unprecedented pandemic so that they could continue to provide these holiday gift packages. RunGoodGear’s ambassadors have donated specifically requested toys to be included in the kids’ holiday packages every year.
Lee, who rose to prominence in the poker world after finishing 13th in the main event of the 2005 World Series of Poker, established his Full House Charity Program in February 2011. Since its start, it has given around $100,000 in items and finances to New England-based children’s charities.
