Favorites to win the 2023 PGA Championship
The 2023 PGA Championship begins soon, and every player appears to be giving their best to bag the trophy home. While some may come out as obvious winners in the golf match, this year is more likely to see unexpected results by having winners that no one thought about.
To start with, Jon Rahm carries the odds of 7-1 to win the second major accolade this year. The 2023 PGA Championship, at Oak Hill Country Club sees Jon share the tag of the favorite with Scottie Scheffler. Needless to say, they have the odds of 7-1 as well for winning the golf championship.
The next comes Rory with 11-1 odds of making it to the final title, followed by Patrick Cantlay at 18-1. Y.E. Yang can be seen chairing the lowest position on the list, hence very little chance of making it big, at least in this edition of the PGA Championship. The odds of them winning the title are 2000-1, which can safely be assumed to be a massive figure.
It is shared with John Daly and Shaun Micheel, making a club of three players least likely to win the tournament this year.
Rory Mcllroy has won the PGA tour 23 times and is one of the favorites to bag a trophy this year. Despite the third-top odds of 11-1, there is a chance that he lands the ultimate title. The only thing stopping him is his recent struggle with the form. This includes finishing the Wells Fargo Championship at the 47th position. That was Rory’s last appearance, and it is not expected to bring the best out of him.
Mcllory is currently ranked 112th for 1-putt percentage and 162nd for putting average. The remaining two categories only showcase that he can go lower than that. Rory stands at 172nd in greens in regulation percentage and strokes gained putting. Per several golf betting sites, he may not be one of the favorites even after ranking third in the odds.
Max Homa is making a strong run for the 2023 PGA Championship title with odds of 28-1. He is surprised for a major reason that Rory is right above him. Landing the tag of being a favorite is rare in such instances.
Nonetheless, he has started 2023 on a greater note already. His victories are backed by titles earned in the Fortinet Championship and Farmers Insurance Open that was held in January. Max has matched the career-best in winnings. The 2023 PGA Championship to surely show him up as a golf personality.
Currently ranked 6th, Homa has the third-highest earning out of all the participants in the tour. He has registered over $8.3 million this year and looks in perfect shape to tackle every competitive entry in the 2023 PGA Championship.
