Gianni Infantino was in Doha to visit the critical operations centers prepared for the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2022. Doha Exhibition Center, Doha Exhibition & Conference Center, and Qatar National Convention Center have been prepared to act as Volunteer Centers, Main ticketing Centers, and hosts to the global media.
As per the latest sports news, the President of FIFA expressed a strong belief in Qatar organizing the 29-day tournament most effectively. Infantino highlighted the need for everything to match global standards, stating that there was no doubt that Qatar would deliver amazing services across the eight venues in the region.
Thanking His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and the people of Qatar, Gianni Infantino said he was looking forward to the tournament more than ever.
Doha Exhibition Center will support services like Main Volunteer Center, Tournament Office, Main Operations Center, IT Command Center, and Main Accreditation Center. Doha Exhibition & Conference Center will become the hub for Hayya Center and Main Ticketing Center. The global media will be hosted at Qatar National Convention Center.
Over 20,000 volunteers and 12,000+ global media are expected to visit Qatar during the tournament.
The three critical operation centers and two international airports have also been prepared to welcome the fans to the country warmly. Doha International Airport and Hamad International Airport will have flights filled with excited fans landing on the runway.
Entertainment and recreational facilities have also been considered to keep fans engaged throughout the tournament. Several Fan Zones have been set up along with a FIFA Fan Festival by the authorities. Eight stadiums will host the tournament matches. Seven of these eight stadiums are newly built with modern amenities and world-class facilities.
The 22nd edition of the tournament starts on November 20, 2022. That is when the hosts will take over Ecuador on the field to kickstart the World Cup. FIFA betting sites are ready to welcome new participants. They have upgraded all the systems to handle large virtual traffic.
32 teams will participate in the tournament, spread over 29 days. The final match will be on December 18, 2022, between the two teams that make their way to the top. The playoff for the third position will be on December 17, 2022.
Brazil is currently entering as the favorites to win the tournament; however, their dry condition for a long time raises some concerns if the team will make it to the finals of the FIFA World Cup.
The next favorites are Argentina, with fans hoping that the current edition of the tournament will finally give the trophy to Messi.
Now that all the key preparations have been done, it is time for Qatar to begin the final inspection to meet the international standards and expectations of fans from different parts of the world.
