Great Canadian Entertainment brings WSOP to Toronto
The Great Canadian Entertainment presents the World Series of Poker (WSOP), the pinnacle of poker fandom, to Toronto. The WSOP will take place at the Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto. The WSOP Circuit, presented by GGPoker, is scheduled to commence on March 22 and conclude on April 1, 2024.
In addition to eight Circuit Ring tournaments with a combined prize pool of $3.9 million, the event featured two High Roller events totaling over $850,000 and a $2,000 Main Event with a prize pool of $2.1 million.
According to the latest poker news, Robert Katsavelos, the general manager of Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto, the inaugural hosting of the WSOP in the city will significantly contribute to the exponential growth of their business. He believes that the masses will appear to be overflowing.
At the WSOP Circuit at Great Canadian Toronto, GGPoker—which sent 774 players to the Main Event at last summer’s WSOP—will solely run the online qualifying tournaments and welcome Brand Ambassadors, such as local poker hero Daniel Negreanu.
According to Negreanu, he has been an avid WSOP participant for almost twenty years, but playing in his hometown will be an absolute delight.
The information regarding the event will be disclosed in due course.
