Hard Rock Casino Undergoes Name Change, Drop Gary From Logo
As part of rebranding exercise, Hard Rock International underwent a change in logo from the current Hard Rock Casino Gary to Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana despite the fact that it will continue to be stationed in Gary. Reports are rife that people in Gary might not welcome this change.
Earlier last year in March, Hard Rock shut its restaurant in downtown Indianapolis that functioned for almost 20 years. Hard Rock café existed in Chicago since 1986.
Meanwhile, Hard Rock was expected to break ground in Gary in January on its $400 million casinos and entertainment building. The entire rebranding exercise remained a low-key affair that witnessed a new logo with the title “Northern Indiana.” The developments were announced through a press release that contained the new name along with the Gary address.
It is worth noting that Hard Rock International was established way back in 1971 as a stylish rock-themed restaurant in London. Since then, it continued its expansion spree that witnessed an inclusion of casinos, hotels, and music venues all over the world.
A large number of Hard Rock facilities are based in various leading cities. As of now, there are 12 fully constructed or under construction Hard Rock casinos based in the country that may include New Jersey, Biloxi, Mississippi, Hollywood, Tampa, Atlantic City, Lake Tahoe, Florida, Nevada, Las Vegas, etc.
The world’s leading brand, Hard Rock International, initially made an announcement of the project earlier in July 2019 and then it was known by the name Hard Rock Casino Gary. Various news outlets published stories with the new Hard Rock Casino Gary’s purple and beige color logo. Now there will be Hard Rock Casino in Gary without its name.
According to Kay Kearney, the creative brand manager of Majestic Star Casino, the decision to change the name was taken a few days ago.
The presence of Hard Rock in Gary is considered a major achievement; however, the rebranding has emerged a worrying move that may put across wrong signals to the forthcoming companies requiring locations in Gary.
