John Hunter Nemechek wins Xfinity Race at Auto Club Speedway
John Hunter Nemechek recently broke the deadlock, winning the first Xfinity Series race since October 2021. The racer came back after almost losing the season opener the previous weekend.
Nemechek’s win at the Nascar Auto Club Speedway was much-awaited ever since the racer won at Texas over a year ago. Sam Mayer closely followed Nemechek to register the career-best finish of second place.
The runner-up position was crucial for Mayer since the racer went down at Daytona. As for the third spot, Justin Allgaier secured the position two times in a row. For the fourth spot, the audience witnessed Chandler Smith presenting their career-best performance.
With a fifth-place finish, Josh Berry helped JRM secure three of the top five positions. Austin Hill, the Daytona winner, surprisingly ended in the sixth spot. The upset did not stop there as Cole Custer placed at the 27th spot after winning the first two stages. The racer lost a tire and hit the wall during the 91st lap.
In a similar fashion, Tyler Reddick ended in the 36th spot with a damaged car after winning a race earlier. Despite the unexpected finish, the racer was sought-out in most Nascar betting sites due to his previous performances.
Joe Gibbs Racing has started the Nascar year on an amazing note, with Nemechek placing second and first in back-to-back races. Similarly, AM Racing celebrated Brett Moffitt’s career-best finish at the ninth spot.
Parker Kilgerman also made an impressionable Xfinity debut with a 10th-place finish. The competition has been gaining traction because of the major turnarounds it has been producing.
That is why the racing circuit is keenly waiting for the next race on March 4th. The race will be held at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway at 4:30 PM EST.
