Jontay Porter wagered millions over multiple years, claims sources
Jontay Porter, the Toronto Raptor center, is under fire after whispers surrounding the player’s betting history surfaced.
Sources have claimed that the Raptors center owned and ran a VIP FanDuel account in Colorado. The alleged account was used to wager millions of dollars between 2021 and 2023.
According to one source, FanDuel did not accept NBA wagers from Porter. Michael Porter Jr., the younger brother of Jontay Porter, was a crucial member of the Denver Nuggets at that time. During that time, the younger brother even won the 2023 NBA championship.
The sources claim that Porter placed 1,000+ wagers during the period. Porter himself was a part of 3 NBA G League teams during the alleged period. The associated FanDuel account stopped activity several weeks before Porter signed a 2-way contract with the Raptors.
Back in March, news surfaced on the web that the NBA was investigating Jontay on suspicion of irregular betting activities. During two games of this season, the odds of Porter underperforming were the most profitable bets.
The Colorado gaming authorities requested the sportsbook to share any accounts that Porter may have been using. They sent a letter to major operators in Colorado that read – The operators are requested to review every patron account to identify if Porter has ever wagered with them.
If so, please review the account for all NBA games-related activities. Note that any activity related to NBA games must be reported immediately. Monday was the deadline for the operators to report Porter’s activity.
As the investigation is going on, Porter’s career has been put on hold indefinitely.
