Lim Kia Tong Leaves a Great Legacy, FIFA Mourns His Sudden Passing

Gianni Infantino last met Lim Kia Tong in late 2021 in Singapore for the inauguration of the new headquarters for the Football Association of Singapore. Lim Kia Tong was first elected for the position of Chairman at the Football Association of Singapore in 2017. He was re-elected for the same position in the previous year.
Aged 70, his demise due to cardiac arrest remains a great loss to the entire football fraternity that experienced his greatness while working as the Deputy Chairman of the FIFA Disciplinary Committee and as the Chairman of the Asian Football Confederation Disciplinary Committee.
Lim Kia Tong was initially a lawyer with 40 years of experience heading the criminal department at Hin Tat Augustine & Partners. He is survived by his wife, a 31-year-old daughter, and a 30-year-old son.
The Football Association of Singapore published a post on Facebook expressing its deepest condolences to his family.
His relationship with the Football Association of Singapore began in 1999 when he was appointed council member. Lim Kia Tong was later awarded the post of Vice President in 2007.
