Long Beach delivers disappointment to USC on Bronny’s return
Bronny James suffered a cardiac arrest nearly five months ago. He then returned to support the USC Trojans in a campaign against the Long Beach State 49ers. However, things didn’t go as expected for the favorites, as they went on to lose the game by 79-84 for the final record of 5-5. Many consider Bronny the missing piece that USC may have needed. They had lost two of their three previous games, and his return was supposed to get them back on track.
There is a chance that USC will eventually make a comeback.
The Trojans did have a good start in the first half of the game, forcing their opponent to stand back at 30 points against their 45 nets. Things went downhill from that moment to the extent that the game was taken to overtime, where the side fell short by 5-10 to clinch the victory.
Boogie Ellis, the 50-year-old senior, has said that they will be taking the loss as a lesson, understanding that there are areas where they can improve their performance. Ellis has acknowledged that they are not a good team right now, but they will work on it as leaders with Kobe Johnson.
The losses began with a challenging match against UC Irvine, resulting in a 60–70 defeat. Oklahoma narrowly clinched victory with a slim margin of 70-72. The third setback occurred against Gonzaga, concluding with a score of 89-76. For those engaged in basketball betting, these outcomes highlight the team’s performance dynamics, potentially influencing odds and strategies for future games.
Many fans or experts said that it was a fallout for the team that should have won the games.
James was unable to play continuously; however, he did land 4 points to his name, along with 2 assists. Vincent and Isaiah led the scoreboard, each bringing 15 points respectively. Boogie Ellis made some loud noise with 4 assists and a total of 14 points for the side.
It was ultimately Marcus who dominated the game in a bigger sense. Hailing from the Long Beach State 49ers, he found the net for 28 points and 3 assists. Jadon Jones, who had 18 points and no assists, perfectly complemented him.
USC ended the game with 7 of 31 3-pointers against 6 of 19 3-pointers.
They will next face Auburn and then Alabama State. The 49ers, on the other hand, have their 2 games scheduled with CSU Dom Hills and CSUF.
Everyone has hopes for Bronny since he is one of the finest 3-pointers. What keeps him on the edge are the minutes for which he is going to play the game. He could take breaks in between; it all just comes down to his preparation to deliver at the right time. The 19-year-old is known to be built for moments when he is expected to perform or moments when there is a lot of attention on him. He embraces that, said Ellis, who believes that he will handle the situation well.
