Manchester City and Liverpool drew 1-1 in the Premier League
John Stones scored the opener in the 23rd minute for Man City. Liverpool attempted to cover for an equalizer throughout the first half. It was only in the second half that they were able to come to par with their opponent. Juergen Klopp, Liverpool’s manager, said they displayed an exceptional football game in the second half, which helped them gain a single-goal draw. It is now only fair to state that Anfield experienced such an event because Liverpool landed a penalty in the 50th minute.
Alexis Mac Allister found the back of the net to put up something on the scoreboard. Except for that kick, both teams strongly contested the game, as evident from the numbers in possession, which danced at 53% and 47% for Liverpool and Man City, respectively. Their shots on target were the same (6); however, Liverpool better navigated the defensive stretch of their opponent.
They attempted a total of 19 shots on the home net, while Man City lagged at 10 shots. Klopp is looking forward to upcoming games. He has said that they will fight whatever circumstances come their way after stating that they are exactly where they should be at the moment. This is probably a reference to their standing on the table of the Premier League. Liverpool are placed second with 64 points, behind Arsenal, who have the same number of points but a GD of 46 versus 39.
Man City are behind Liverpool with 63 points and a GD of 35. The last five games have been more favorable to Liverpool, for they have won four football games and tied only one game. Man City won three of their last five games and landed a draw in the remaining events of the Premier League.
Pep Guardiola, Man City Manager, said both teams had their moments, and they are taking their respective points for it, adding that Liverpool proved the level of quality they have hosted over the years.
Liverpool are next scheduled to lock horns with Everton. Man City will face Brighton. Dates and times for both Premier League events are yet to be decided. Other football games to look forward to are between Bournemouth & Luton Town, Crystal Palace & Newcastle, and Arsenal & Chelsea.
A tie between Man City and Liverpool came after West Ham and Burnley landed a 2-goal tie. Interestingly, two out of four goals came in OT – first half and second half. Burnley gained the advantage of an OG scored by Konstantinos in 45+1 minute. Ings made the best use of OT after the usual 90-minute run. Hence a double-goal tie. This outcome surely made waves on best online football betting sites, stirring up excitement and perhaps causing some unexpected results for bettors.
The football tournament continues, with many more matches scheduled to happen. Chelsea versus Newcastle and Bournemouth versus Luton Town are the closest upcoming games fans can witness.
