Preview: Alabama versus North Carolina in March Madness 2024
North Carolina Tar Heels and Alabama Crimson Tide will face each other in the 2024 March Madness Sweet 16 basketball event. The odds are heavier for North Carolina to clinch the victory. However, it is too early to dismiss Alabama entirely.
UNC has pretty much dominated the area with massive wins in the past two games. These were against Wagner in the first round and Michigan State in the following round. The win against Wagner came at 90-62, and the win against Michigan State was at 85-69. Alabama almost had a narrow escape in the first round when Charleston contested, landing the final tally of 109-96. That soon followed a similar win in the second round against Grand Canyon, 72-61.
Alabama enters the court with a spread of +4.5 against -4 for their opponent. The money line is +165 and -182 for ALA and UNC, respectively. Needless to say, these are subject to change depending on the final performances of the players. The figures come in reference to the odds and predictions estimated by some of the best basketball betting sites.
UNC versus Wagner was an obvious win right from the beginning. The first half saw them dominate massively by 40–28. The second half came, and the momentum was carried forward without any pinch of hesitation. Heels ensured to score half a century while restricting the attempted attacks from the Seahawks to a score of 34.
RJ Davis led the charge by contributing 22 points. He was followed by Bacot, lagging behind by just a 2-point deficit. Tar and Spartans drew a familiar picture when North Carolina went straight in the first half and took that forward into what came next. RJ Davis maintained leading the charge.
Crypto.com Arena is excited to see how Crimson rolls out its strategy. The Sweet 16 basketball event in the NCAA tournament awaits a fair fight.
Alabama crossed a hundred in the first round when Mark Sears made his efforts evident with 30 points. He further strengthened the position by bringing 4 rebounds and 5 assists. If that was not enough, then he demonstrated his style again in the event against Grand Canyon. Together with a 26-point contribution, there were 12 rebounds and 6 assists.
Crimson Tide had the game their way in both halves for the final tally of 72-61.
Other games in the Sweet 16 series to look out for are between Arizona and Clemson, UConn and San Diego, and Iowa State and Illinois, among others. Teams that bag a win here will advance to the Elite Eight.
The second round of the basketball tournament has just concluded between Houston and Texas A&M, with the former winning 100-95.
North Carolina will enter the basketball court as favorites to win the game. Alabama is not looking to leave the premises without a win.
