Preview of Euro 2024, Highlighting Groups, Fixtures, and Favorites
The UEFA European Football Championship begins on June 14, 2024 in Germany. It is slated to conclude on July 14, 2024, marking the month-long excitement for fans. The opener will be played between the hosts and Scotland, with both having decent chances of making it to the last lap. A total of 6 groups have been crafted for Euro 2024, with each group having 4 teams. Hence, 24 teams will be brought under a single umbrella for a thrilling chase to the final.
The tournament returned to Germany for the first time since reunification with the 1988 edition held in West Germany.
England are leading the list of favorites with 3/1 in their favor. They are followed by France and Germany with odds of 7/2 and 6/1, respectively. Spain and Scotland are featured on the list, too – 7/1 and 80/1 are in the same order.
Group-stage football events will be followed by the Round of 16. Teams that win their events will book a spot in the quarter-finals contest for a spot in the finals and ultimately set their sights on the crown at the Olympiastadion in Berlin.
Assuming England top the chart in the group stage, they will most likely face one of the third-placed teams from Group D, Group E, or Group F. Scotland finishing the group matches at the same rank in their chart will bring them to meet a second-placed team from Group B or Albania, Spain, Italy, and Croatia.
As Euro 2024 approaches, football betting enthusiasts are eyeing six formidable teams: England, France, Belgium, Portugal, Hungary, and Romania. Dominating the qualifying stage, all remained undefeated. Portugal, however, stands out with an impressive tally of 36 goals and a flawless winning streak. Remarkably, they only allowed two goals against them.
Norway has failed to qualify, taking away Erling Haaland and Martin Odegaard’s appearance. Spain and Scotland lack sufficient points. Hence, they are not given the chance to qualify via playoffs. Sweden has not been able to qualify for the football tournament for the first time since 1996.
Close competition is likely to be seen in Group B. It houses Croatia, Spain, Italy, and Albania. The Netherlands are waiting for their match in the group stage. So are Romania and Türkiye on Match Day 1 of 3.
