Racing Victoria Denies All Entries From Laing’s Stable
The career stint of Robbie Laing as a trainer is in ruins following Racing Victoria’s swing to dismiss nominees from his Cranbourne stable.
Laing aged 60, has accused the loss of owners as well as the cash flow problems to have been the primary reasons for delays in rent payments for his stables. This led to officials from RV taking this action.
Laing had been the Group One-winning trainer for a while and said that a positive trenbolone test that was ultimately thrown out led to this havoc. He also added that his tumbling marriage exacerbated the situation inflicting a drastic effect on his career.
Laing said this after 2 months of a positive sample from Little Indian in 2017 that led a number of owners abstaining their horses from his stable.
He explained that he is examining his legal alternatives that included a possible petition to the Victorian Civil & Administrative Tribunal. The RV chief steward Robert told that Laing’s license was dismissed for renewal under failure to fulfill certain criteria. Laing had been undergoing financial pressure while steward conferred with him as well as his financial consultants.
Laing said,
Further, he added,
Financial difficulties came to his business of Double RL Racing that he used to operate with his wife, Rachael. He informed that his prize money had been sent to his ex-wife, making it hard for Laing to support feed, staff rent, and farriers.
Laing told that he might be characterized as a ratbag, but he affirms that the event has not affected him much.
Laing owned 2 horses, Pissaro and Gennady, that went for The Valley this Saturday and are now transferred to Jack, who his only son.
