Reviewing the qualifications for Euro 2024
Denmark meets Finland on the first matchday of the Euro 2024 qualification. The advancement of the semi-final of the previous edition is notable with a defeat to England when the event went to extra time. Fans remember that as a disappointment, but Denmark comes with a commitment to bounce back from the loss. They are likely to have a clean sheet in the opening fixture against Finland.
The last qualifiers of Euro 2020 ended with Denmark landing on the winning side with a clear victory of 1-0 against Switzerland and 6-0 against Gibraltar. There is little doubt why the opener would be any different.
Slovakia and Luxembourg will meet for a Group J fixture on Matchday 1. Slovakia comes with the baggage of a draw with Chile in the Nations League on the final matchday. An event before that was a draw with Montenegro, with both sides scoring two goals each. Overall, Slovakia has just 5 goals to its name in the last 6 events in the Nations League group.
Slovakia played against Kazakhstan, Belarus, and Azerbaijan. Scoring a goal was tough but achievable. Euro 2024 qualifiers could come out as a similar picture if the team does not step up its game.
Portugal sees the return of the player they wanted to have in the World Cup, Diogo Jota. He went missing after sustaining an injury. Jota is now back, and the team is under the leadership of Roberto Martinez. Several football sports betting sites predict Portugal to go through the event 1-100 for a clear win. Liechtenstein is barely expected to be surprised or upset, considering the side has been goalless since the previous three events it has engaged in with Andorra, Gibraltar, and Moldova.
The Portuguese attack will be backed by Joao Felix Cristiano Ronaldo, Goncalo Guedes, and Bruno Fernandes. Out of which, Guedes is credited with a hat-trick in the last 16 of the Swiss.
Portugal left the World Cup tour when it failed to move on from the Quarter Finals, where Morocco secured an upsetting win.
It is all about the opening game now that will be played between Kazakhstan and Slovenia from Group H. Italy, and England from Group C have a heavier inclination towards England, with Italy definitely to make up for the loss against Malta, Ukraine, and North Macedonia.
England has lost to France in the World by 2-1. The quarter-finals saw the single coming from Kane, who was outstanding throughout the tournament. Giroud and Tchouameni outplayed the competitor for one goal each in the name of French football. The second match is with Ukraine, following which England will lock horns with Malta.
Gibraltar has won its previous two matches in the Nations League against Andorra and Liechtenstein. Its next event against Greece could go either way, after which the actual competition starts. Netherlands would want to prove that it deserves to top the charts for Group B.Croatia versus Wales has baggage of Wales not being able to find the net in the previous two matches, which were against England and Iran.
