Rhode Island’s online casino gambling soars in April post-launch

April saw further advancements in Rhode Island’s virtual casino business, as Bally’s casino posted a 72% rise in year-to-date revenues of $20.8 million compared to the previous month of March. This is quite an achievement given that it has been only two months since the legalization of online casino gambling in the state, thus making Rhode Island the seventh state to allow it.

Bally’s is the only online casino provider in Rhode Island and also manages two physical casinos within the region. The company’s successes in the virtual world are evidence of a growing understanding of online gambling throughout the State. On March 5th, the state officially opened its online casino market, which brought in $1.21 million within 27 days of its operations.

A detailed report on revenue distribution for April revealed that online slot games contributed $1.34 million, constituting 64% of the total receipts. Online table games also significantly improved, contributing $740,579, or 36%, of the total revenues. This increase of 210% and more from March only shows a continuous shift towards table games and puts Rhode Island among the best online casinos USA.

The increase in internet gambling profit levels is not confined to Rhode Island alone. Across the country, April is generally a low season for the gambling industry after March, which is believed to be motivated by the NCAA basketball tournament and other factors. Nevertheless, individual legal online casinos in the United States remained on the rise in April, albeit with less steep growth rates.

Compared to the other states that have legalized the operations of online casinos, Pennsylvania was among the best performers in April after recording a revenue of more than $212 million. However, this was only 90% of what was recorded in March. Michigan and New Jersey were only slightly behind, having collected $192.9 million and $187.9 million, respectively. Even slight declines compared to the previous month show that the online casino sector is vibrant and growing in these regions.

The online gambling market in Rhode Island is expected to gradually increase its market share and revenue in the future. This progress will go a long way toward identifying the possibility of small niche markets in the larger U.S. online gambling market context. Expanding this sector indicates a good prospect for Internet-based casinos in Rhode Island as the increasing number of gaming establishments across the country move towards Internet-based platforms.
