Jannik and Medvedev have previously met in the finals of the Vienna Open. Sinner was victorious by 6-7, 6-4, and 3-6, defeating Rublev in the semis by 7-5 and 7-6.
The women’s singles has also concluded at the Australian Open. Aryna Sabalenka taking the title back home is now officially the talk of the town. Her convenient win was after 6-3 and 6-2 were flashed on the board. Zheng pretty much did not have any other option, knowing that points and games won were far less to her name.
Talking about history, Rohan Bopanna is now the oldest tennis player to have won the Australian Open in the men’s doubles category. The Indian tennis player was paired with Matthew Ebden, and both defeated Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori by 7-6 and 7-5.
