Sri Lanka enters ICC World Cup 2023
One of the two spots for the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 has been booked by Sri Lanka. They have won two matches, with the last one scheduled to be played against West Indies on the last day of Super Six, which is July 07, 2023. West Indies are already out, so it will only be a matter of pride for them to defeat the unbeaten Sri Lankan army.
As of July 03, 2023, while articulating this piece, Sri Lanka is through to the finals waiting for an opponent.
Zimbabwe has a better chance of making it to the top two spots. Even if they lose the next against Scotland, they could advance based on the net run rate. Interestingly, Scotland has some chances of making it to the final event. They beat the Indies, are scheduled to face the hosts on July 04, and then they will be against the Netherlands. Assuming they win their remaining matches by a huge margin, there is definitely a spot for them in the tournament.
Zimbabwe is on the edge. They lost to Sri Lanka by 9 wickets. Winning this match would have given them the surety. Nevertheless, it is the other way around, and the hosts are back to square one. It will be the final event against Scotland to decide if they make it or not.
Zimbabwe missed out on appearing in 2019. This year it could be their 10th appearance.
Scotland has 4 points to their name and a good chance of qualifying for the finals. Their net run rate is +0.188, and their total points are 4 on the Super Six table. The same can be viewed below:

Giving a boost to the players is the victory over West Indies by 7 wickets. The target of 182 was chased down in 43.3 overs. Not just that they were able to keep their wickets safe, but they even completed the innings before the opponents were all bowled out by them. Winning the remaining events is crucial if they truly want to drive all the way to India for the tournament.
The Netherlands have won only a single event out of the three events they have played. Their NRR is lower; chances are negligible. They will have to win the remaining matches by a wider margin. It is only then they will qualify. Two points on the table don’t suffice as the intent to play the game in October-November 2023.
Chances for the Netherlands also stand if Scotland beats the hosts. The two-time world cup winners are out of the qualifying race. Once the favorite, it is indeed disappointing to see them leave with heads down after a loss against Scotland. They are now looking forward to the test, ODI, and T20 series with India.
Oman is also out at a negative NRR of 2.139. No best online cricket betting sites were in their favor. If they were, the odds were very marginal. They have two matches left against the Netherlands and West Indies. Nothing to win and nothing to lose; they, too, will play for pride.
Hold on as five more games are lined up in the Super Six of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 Qualifier.
