USA Basketball Unveiled Its 2022 World Cup Qualifying Squad
The organization unveiled the twelve-man lineup for the August 2022 USA Basketball Men’s World Cup Qualification Squad on August 11th, 2022. As a core component of their 4th eligible window (6 in total), the United States of America will compete in two matches before the 2023 FIBA Tournament. The team will play Colombia in Barranquilla on August 29th after hosting Uruguay on August 25th at Cox Pavilion in Vegas.
7 of the 12 sportsmen representing the USA in the competition have previously competed for United States Basketball. Each has years of experience playing professionally in the NBA, NBA G League, and other professional international league games.
Malik Ellison, Tyler Cavanaugh, McKinley Wright, Michael Frazier, David Stockton, Langston Galloway, Mac McClung, Dewan Hernandez, John Jenkins, DaQuan Jeffries, Eric Mika, and Robert Woodard are all members of the squad.
Mika, Frazier, Jeffries, Galloway, Jenkins, and Stockton are among the players from the United States Basketball Men’s World Cup Finals Squad from July 2022 who have returned. The group moved 2-0 on the road against Cuba and Puerto Rico to finish the first qualifications phase.
Woodard has previous junior national squad encounters with USA Basketball.
He participated in several junior national team offseason workouts and captured a top spot at the 2015 FIBA U16 Americas Champions league. He was considered one of the favorite players to bet on various basketball betting sites.

As per the sports news, In the 2nd round for the qualifications, there seem to be 3 two-game panes. For the North American region, they are August 25 and 29, November 11 and 14, and eventually February 23 and 26. The United States could win a Cup Final spot in the Nov window if it defeats Colombia and Uruguay.
The only team from the USA to go undefeated in the opening round of qualifications was Canada (6-0). Argentina (5-1), Venezuela (5-1), Panama (2-4), the Dominican Republic (4-2), and the Bahamas are also included in Canada’s team for the 2nd round (2-4).
Jim Boylen, the current coach of the USA, will lead the USA Basketball World Cup Finals Team for the 4th successive time. He previously held positions in Nov 2021, Feb 2022, and July 2022. Assistant coaching staff Othella Harrington and Ty Ellis, who supported him during the last 3 world cup qualifying rounds, will sit alongside him on the seat.
The USA and Brazil are tied for first place in Group F going into the match. Seven groups from the American continent will participate in the 2023 FIBA World Cup in the Philippines, Indonesia, and Japan beginning in August. The sixth and last qualifying display, which will take place in February 2023, is planned for Nov.
