The World Series of Poker (WSOP) concluded its Fall 2023 tournament series in the United States. The result was 33 winners who played their hands in New Jersey and Nevada over the course of 37 days. These two jurisdictions competed in the WSOP.CA, where Canadians competed for eight WSOP bracelets.
Joining them were players from the global WSOP online series. On offer were 74 bracelets in all, which were distributed all over the globe. In the US series, there was $8,307,208 in prize money involving 33 separate tournaments that provided a WSOP title to the players of New Jersey and Nevada.
One of the winners turned out to be Kristen Foxen, who walked off with her 4th WSOP bracelet against $888 NLH Crazy 8’s. Before this, Foxen berthed a fourth position for herself in the $5,300 NLH Super High Roller 6-Max. In the same event, Calvin Anderson managed to win his fifth bracelet. A week before this, Anderson received his fourth WSOP title in the $1,000 PLO 6-Max. Foxen was second in line to Denise Pratt when she received her fifth title in the $3,200 High Roller Championship.
Third on the winner’s list was Shannon Shorr, just under Foxen and Pratt in the same tournament where he was aiming for his second WSOP bracelet. Nevertheless, Pratt managed to obtain his first bracelet in the $2,000 NLH 6-Max. Shorr found his place in the $1,000 NLH Freezeout. Another multiple winner turned out to be Guy Dunlap, who received two bracelets in the $1,000 NLH Bounty Freezeout and $500 NLH Super Turbo.
Engel obtained his third bracelet in the $500 NLH Turbo 6-Max and was competing with 196 players. Rabinowitz, on his part, took away a bracelet in the $1,000 NLH Online Championship, and his career winnings jumped to $3 million. Earlier, he had won WSOP circuit rings in two separate years.
Lapka collected his second online bracelet via the $5,300 Super High Roller Freezeout. His initial win was in 2021 when he walked away with $75,371. This was Lapka’s first-ever six-figure earnings, amounting to $106,068. He was present at the final game with players like Chan Woo Kim, Fred Li, Ben Yu, and Wood.
The 33 bracelets that were distributed were valued at more than $2 million in the Nevada and New Jersey series.
