WPL 2023 prediction for the second-leg of RCB versus UPW
TATA Women’s Premier League is bringing out the best in every player possible except for Smriti Mandhana and Renuka Singh. Both of them can be seen as troubling in their respective forms. RCB is down in all the games that have happened so far in the first edition of the tournament. UPW, on the other hand, still stands a chance of making it to the playoffs. They have won 2 of the four matches played so far, including against RCB in the first leg.
The second round is a chance for RCB to redeem its previous loss with 42 balls remaining.
RCB and UPW will again face each other on March 15, 2023, at 7:30 pm IST. Dr. DY Patil Stadium is set to host the round between the two.
Predictions are already assumed to work in favor of UPW, and rightly so. RCB has been unable to defend the total or even chase the total so far. UPW, for instance, was able to chase the target of 139 in 13 overs against RCB without losing a single wicket. There have been words over Mandhana’s captaincy. Perry, for one, is optimistic that the skipper will find her form in the coming matches.
UPW is coming after losing against MI. UPW was tasked with chasing the target of 165. Falling short by 5 runs, UPW stood on the losing side with 15 balls remaining. It was purely for Alyssa Healy, and Tahila McGrath combined that there was a fight. Healy contributed 58 off 46 balls, while her teammate was tapped at the half-century by Ishaque.
Devika Vaidya was sent back after putting up 6 runs. Bowling could have been better since UPW managed to take only 2 wickets.RCB, unfortunately for its fans, has not managed to register a single win in the tournament. Their last defeat was against DC to keep them at the bottom of the ranks in the Women’s Premier League 2023. Ellyse Perry is inching closer to Orange Cap with a total of 195 runs in 5 games. This should suffice as evidence that Perry is indeed leading RCB in most of the matches.
The last encounter between UPW and RCB also saw Perry bring in a total of 52 runs for the side. That went down the drain when UPW was able to chase 139 in just 13 overs. Healy was restricted to 96, four short of a century. That could have been four more, provided RCB had set a higher target. It may not be tough to bet on cricket when RCB is on the field, considering the Mandhana-led side has lost all its matches so far. That being said, the game of T20 is unpredictable, especially WPL. With the second round starting between all the teams, there is a chance that RCB may end up winning some of the unexpected matches.
Not joking around, but UPW still has a better chance here. The only two matches that it lost were against MI and DC, both being the dominating teams in the tournament. Rush to set decent odds in favor of UPW. Keep a margin for RCB in case the team ends up delivering a surprise.
